Dear fellow Community leaders and Friends,

It is with great pride to inform you that the Council of Filipino Associations in Austria ( CFAA), with the cooperation of the Philippine Embassy in Vienna will be spearheading the celebration of ” Paskong Pinoy” in Vienna. This will be held on Wednesday , December 8, 2010 at our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church . Stefan-Fadingerplatz 1, A-1100 Vienna. The whole program starts after the Holy Mass at 11A.M.

As we all know, Paskong Pinoy is considered to be the world’s longest running Christmas celebration. Filipinos from all over spend this entire season with enormously rich yuletide traditions of merry making observed up to the present day. The yuletide celebrations in the Philippines and abroad ¬†exemplifies the country’s culturally diverse traditions. It is a blend of cultures, traditions and customs cherished by both folks and Christian beliefs.

This community celebration will be highlighted by a lantern-making contest organized by the Philippine Embassy and a chorale group competition from various Filipino groups. The parol or lantern – making competition, which is an annual crowd drawer in our country , is a showcase of some of Filipino distinctive qualities of ingenuity , hospitality and commitment for hope and peace. The chorale competition is also considered a source of natural talent and passion of our kababayans as well. Lists of attractive and great prizes await the winners of both categories .

In this regard, we are cordially inviting everyone to join us on this day and hope that this will be a perfect opportunity to bring friends and families together as we celebrate the wonderful spirit of Christmas.

On behalf of CFAA, I look forward for your cooperation and participation.

Maraming Salamat Po !

Very truly yours, Rolly Mercado -  Chairman , CFAA
